The Penang Bridge, at 13.5km, is one of the world's longest bridge. Since Sept 1985, more than 130,000 vehicles ply across the Penang Bridge daily and this monumental bridge is only closed to traffic once a year for only ONE occasion.......The Penang Bridge International Marathon!
The Penang Bridge International Marathon is the largest mass-participation sports event in Penang, bringing together more than 17,000 people from 25 different countries worldwide and all over the nation to run across the Penang Bridge!

Descriptions: The worship of the Nine Emperor Gods (known as Kew Ong yah in Hokkien, and Kow Wong Yeh in Cantonese) is very prevalent in Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore.
Every year, the Nine Emperor Gods Festival is held for 9 days, from 1st day to the 9th day of the 9th lunar month. This is when the spirits of the Nine Emperor Gods which are believed to dwell in the stars, descend to earth and posses the spirit mediums, putting them in a trance. During the Nine Emperor Gods Fstival, many devotees will go on a vegetarian diet. Stalls are set up to sell vegetarian food, vegetarian cakes and goodies. An opera show will also be performed as a mark of respect to the Gods.
During these 9 days, you will be able to witness a variety of events like the Spear Skewing Ceremony, the Making of the Herbal Medicine and the Fire Walking Ceremony. These reituals are spectacular, extraordinary but yet challenging.
